"It's hard to tell stories about critters that are not human. John W. Campbell tried it, in "Twilight," and everybody says it's a wonderful story, and nobody ever reads it twice."
- Jerry Pournelle

Kamikaze Andy
An android that is designed as an assassination weapon.

This is an interesting idea for a device, one which makes use of the social elements of the suicide bomber idea. I wonder if the android has any self-knowledge of the attack? A robot adhering to Asimov's rules of robotics would not be able to carry out a self-aware attack.

"It's a very high class andy," said Hambrick. "We got our fist kamikaze killing in GLA just about a year ago. They're very expensive, but then Tek runners rarely worry about budgets. The android will just walk right up to the target. Soon as contact is made there is an explosion.

The android is disguised in a manner that makes it seem harmless to the target, or to not stand out in the environment in which the attack occurs.

See the article on the first use of android in The Cometeers (1936) by Jack Williamson.
