'Invisibles' Provides Tactile Feedback For VR
The Invisibles is a device that can provide programmed tactile feedback to your fingertips that matches what you can see on the touch screen.
The Invisibles was developed by a trio of Japanese researchers, the system employs circular sensors attached to your fingertips that translate the digital actions onscreen into touchable events.

Fans of writer David Brin may recall the Accu-Terrain floor, also called the Needle-Gym, from his 1994 novel Natulife:
Long Stick howled. I sprinted from cover, swiftly taking the lead. The auto-treadmill's bumps and gullies matched whatever terrain the goggles showed me, so my feet knew how to land and thrust off again. The body suit brushed my skin with synthetic wind. Flared nostrils inhaled sweat, exhilaration, and for a time I forgot I was in a tiny room on the eightieth floor of a suburban Chitown con-apt, surrounded by fifty million neighbors.
