Here's something to try on your next ski trip, especially if you haven't really kept up on your exercises prior to hitting the slopes.

Experience the first of its kind robotic powered exoskeleton to superpower your knees during alpine skiing and snowboarding. The sensors and the software on the exoskeleton senses user intent and automatically adjusts torque at the knee via air actuators effectively mimicking the quadricep muscles. Science fiction authors pioneered the idea of exoskeletons. Probably the best fit for an exoskeleton you could ski with is the powered suit from Robert Heinlein's 1959 novel Starship Troopers.

I'd also mention the rigid metallic clothing from Edmond Hamilton's 1932 classic A Conquest of Two Worlds.
