A Look Into The Future Of Spacecraft!

Just a couple of days ago, NASA astronaut Randy Bresnik peers into the future of space travel - through the hatch into the International Space Station's amazing Bigelow Expandable Aerospace Module (BEAM).

(Pretty cool look from Randy Bresnik's personal feed)

He said "Ever wonder how you look when you enter a new part of a spacecraft? Well, this is it. First time inside the expandable BEAM module."

Raymond Z. Gallun, Golden Age master of science fiction, described the inflation of a space craft in 1961 from The Planet Strappers - see the entry for space bubbles [bubbs].

Also, take a look at the Inflatable Expansion Bubble from Crashlander (1994), by Larry Niven; this article contains more information about famed aerospace engineer Werner von Braun's inflatable space station idea from 1952.
