Actroid DER2 Gets TV Commercial Gig Video
Actroid DER2 is an eerily android fembot whose limbs, torso and facial expressions are controlled by actuators powered by pneumatic pressure. She is able to synchronize voice, gestures and facial expressions.
And, she's a celebrity. Take a look at this commercial for Kincho's Preshower UV insect repellent sunscreen.
(Actroid DER2 - 'Surprisingly, I don't rust!' )
At the end she exclaims "Surprisingly, I don't rust!
SF fans already exclaim how similar Actroid is to other science-fictional fembots, like the mechanical bride from Fritz Leiber's 1954 story.
