Pileus Umbrella Flickr Photo Browser

The Pileus System umbrella photo browser combines the Pileus Umbrella and the Pileus WebService.

The top of the umbrella has a camera; the user takes pictures of his surroundings. The grip module has a web connection and ID; it uploads pictures to Flickr with some context tags.

(Pileus umbrella photo browser details)

The umbrella photo browser is an art project developed by Sho Hashimoto, Shingo Iwata, Takashi Matsumoto, Aya Tomatsu, Naoki Kubota and Naohito Okude at Keio University, Media Design, Okude Lab.

This reminds me in some way of the basic idea of the True-Vu Lenses from David Brin's 1990 novel Earth. In the story, anyone with the goggles can easily wirelessly upload whatever they see to a networked location.
