I would like to repurpose this ancient Russian walking excavator as a recreational vehicle. I don't need the crane part.

Fans of Jack Vance may recall the walking fort from The Killing Machine (1964) and traction cities from Mortal Engines (2003) by Philip Reeve. If you really want to go back in time, try the steam-propelled houses from Jane Webb Loudon's 1828 story The Mummy! A Tale of the Twenty-Second Century.
