HiBot's ACM-R5H Robot Video Shows Graceful Terminator-Style Swimming
Not that you thought it was safe to go in the water, but, well, take a look at the new ACM-R5H amphibious snakelike robot and judge for yourself.

HiBot says the new model is more modular and easier to customize that earlier versions. You can easily attach more segments to the snake's body to make it longer, or remove segments if you need a shorter robot. Users can also use payload compartments in the snake's front and rear modules to add custom sensors or cameras. The new ACM-R5H uses HiBot's advanced robot controller based on an ARM Cortex-M4 processor.
Science fiction fans have been nervously scanning fetid rivers waiting for the inevitable rise of the swimming Terminator robots from the 2009 film Terminator Salvation.

The newest version of ACM-R5H amphibious snakelike robot will be demonstrated at the International Robot Exhibition (iREX) at Tokyo's Big Sight convention center this week; the rumor is that HiBot has set up a demonstration pool. Don't forget to bring your swim suit.
