First (Nonfictional) Stainless Steel Robot With 7 DOF
The first nonfictional stainless steel robot is being put into service by Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan.
It will be used in the drug discovery and pharmaceutical fields to automate experiments which use dangerous chemicals.Due to its stainless steel body, it can be sterilized using Hydrogen Peroxide gas, for work in sterile environments.
Kawasaki plan to launch this robot in January next year.
Science fiction fans of course love the first fictional stainless steel robot, The Terminator from the 1984 film of the same name.
