Space Beer In (Very) Limited Distribution

Space Beer has been created by Japanese brewer Sapporo - and Okayama University biologists. The brew makes use of barley plants descended from those grown inside the International Space Station.

(Space beer - those are big hops)

Not yet available for commercial consumption, 30 lucky couples picked by random lottery will be able to sample the brew in January. I'm guessing "out of this world" will be the most common response.

What possible difference could it make if cosmic rays bombarded the ancestors of these plants in outer space? Could a simple beverage have that much kick?
