Plastic Logic Reader 8.5x11 E-Book The Plastic Logic reader made very strong showing at the recent Demo Fall 08 conference in San Diego. At 8.5" by 11", it's a full-size e-book reader that is readable, thin, light and low-power.
The following video shows off the fact that it is more than just a reader - it is an interactive device that is touch-sensitive and interactive. It can even bring up a keypad for touch-typing.

There is some discussion about this device being released next year; most of the characteristics beside the display are up in the air.

I'm still wondering what happened to the flexibility of their product; see this prior article E-Papers From Plastic Logic to see a video that demonstrates the infamous "shoe torture test" showing the toughness of the Plastic Logic display.
SF readers are salivating over this one; visions of Clarke's 1968 newspad dancing in our heads, we also see pictures of electronic newspapers before our eyes, thanks to Spielberg magic.

Via everywhere, including Gizmodo ; I spent too much time eyeing this story, and playing with videos, and not enough time writing.
