Smart Chair Follows You Like A Chairdog

Interactive mobile seating is clearly visualized in this concept video from a project at Eindhoven.

I'm a little bit more convinced of the utility of this idea in the part where the guy sets up a dozen chairs at once. It's a cool idea.

Seeing this made me think immediately of Frank Herbert's chairdogs, which would follow you around as loyally as these mere mechanical devices. And they give great massages, too.

He indicated a chairdog against the wall to his right, snapped his fingers. The semi-sentient artifact glided to a position behind McKie. "Please be seated."
