"The whole problem of energy sources is going to be solved by little solutions, not by some big new piece of technology that does everything. We got into this crisis by believing that we had one big piece of technology that would do everything (oil)."

This is a great insight; in 1977, the only "flat screens" existed in (rather expensive) digital watches.
Although today's large plasma and LCD TVs are at least an inch thick, that's still pretty thin. Why not pick one up today? You've got a while to wait for a poster TV.
Thin LCD screens are under development; your next PDA may roll up into a pen that you carry in your shirt pocket. However, there is a device that carries some of the impact of a poster TV. You may have seen these in the lobby of your local megaplex cinema: the Cine Plasma 4 Lobby Display system. It has a 50 inch diagonal "screen" in a 16 x 9 poster format that is actually inset rather than being mounted on the wall. It makes for a very striking display, particularly when placed next to standard posters. It would have been particularly nice to advertise the last Harry Potter movie!
