Adoption of Television
Prediction of TV penetration in homes and the death of movie houses.

Dead accurate prediction; the adoption curve for television took off in early 1950 and peaked at 90+ percent by 1960.

“Broadcasting sound alone, by what they called radio, never held much money, though it was quite popular. People were not interested in voices when they could not see the performers.

“About 1960, when commercial television was generally adopted, the death blow to entertainment sanity was struck. Old-time movie houses were closed one by one as people bought home televisors. Duplication was magnified a hundredfold without the trouble of records either for gesture or sound. Both could be shot through the ether and delivered direct to anyone who would pay a few dollars for a televisor.
