Video-Manicuring Program  
  Manipulates live video images in real time.  

At present, it is possible to alter images one at a time with a standard PC. This kind of real-time image manipulation is not yet possible (or is it?).

Lindsay had a brief glimpse of the man's true appearance - white hair in spiky disarray, red-rimmed eyes - before a video-manicuring program came on line. The program raced up the screen one scan line at a time, subtly smoothing, deleting and coloring.

High-end video processing can be done to colorize old black and white movies, and to improve the quality of old prints. Another version of video processing that is not yet here is found in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, in which the characters in the wall-sized TV shows would actually move their lips to say your name (if you could afford that feature).
