| A very large mobile home, used by jawas on the deserts of Tatooine. |
The deserts of the planet Tatooine were harsh; very rough on machines. The small jawas used enormous vehicles as a kind of mobile home - no mere Winnebago, the sandcrawler was the size of a small building, containing living space and a large maintenance hangar and shop area.
| At the bottom of the canyon - like some monstrous prehistoric beast - was a sandcrawler as enormous as its owners and operators were tiny. Several dozen meters high, the vehicle towered above the ground on multiple treads that were taller than a tall man. Its metal epidermis was battered and pitted from withstanding untold sandstorms. |
