This is the first known use of the modern word "android" and was used to refer to an automaton produced by St. Albertus Magnus. The word was coined from the Greek words for 'man' and 'having the likeness of'.
See also andy from Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (1968) by Philip K. Dick and droid from Star Wars (1976) by George Lucas.
Also, andreide can be found in L’ève future - Villiers de l’Isle Adam - 1886 (thanks to @Pierre Metivier).
