"It was my preferred entertainment when I was a kid, so when I set out to be a writer, it was perfectly natural that I should write the sort of stories that I used to enjoy reading."
- John Brunner

Mnemotropin
A drug to improve the creation of long-term memories.

Stone's job is to study - to learn and assimilate as much as he can from an amazing terminal screen that is linked to thousands of others, all over the world.

One day, he gets some help.

One day Stone notices a pill on his lunch tray. He asks June its nature.

"It's a mnemotropin - promotes the coding of long-term memories," she replies. "I thought it might help you."

Each day he finds a pill at lunch. His brain seems to expand to a larger volume soon after he takes them. The effect is potent, allowing him to imagine that he can ingest the world.
