Comments on Fracking Gas Companies Suspend Operations
Let's not tell DARPA about the 'terrain deformation' possibility. (Read the complete story)

"They honestly didn't expect that?"
(Paradox Mind 3/9/2011 7:24:00 AM)
"Hmm, I guess it would depend on what you mean by 'honestly'. We need access to resources like natural gas, but sometimes 'what happens underground doesn't actually stay underground' if you'll pardon my paraphrase of the famous Vegas tagline. See my article on fracking for details, which include a video showing well water that you can set on fire."
(Bill Christensen 3/9/2011 7:34:25 AM)
"I equate fracturing tech along with strip mining where entire mountains are removed off the face of the planet. I'm glad the core of the earth is molten, or we would have splintered into asteroids years ago."
(Joey1058 3/9/2011 12:45:35 PM)
"It is an emerging technology and a promising one to provide more abundant (yet ultimately limited) energy source, but I would not dscribe it as "cheap". The water where I live in Eastern PA is foul enough already, and there are plenty of small fault zones just waitng to become problems with the right 'mishandling'. Caveat emptor. "
