If This Goes On... by Robert Heinlein:
Science Fiction Inventions, Technology and Ideas

This novella was first serialized in Astounding, but eventually published in 1953 as part of the collection Revolt in 2100. The story takes place in a future America ruled by a series of fundamentalist Christian "Prophets". A revolution is planned.

In 2016, the story was given the 1941 Retro-Hugo Award for Best Novella of 1940. Select an invention:
