Chameleon Cloth  
  Clothing that changes color and pattern to match its surroundings.  

Dirk and Gwen go flying, but not in an aircar; they used sky-scoots, which support them while leaving them open to the elements.

They rode forward together, gaining altitude steadily... The chameleon cloth overalls they wore had gone all gray and white...

They landed well inside the forest... Dirk watched her clothing slowly fade to a mottled off-white and green to match the shade of the ground she sat upon.
