The fascinating thing about this for me is the idea that a company that got its start in optics might turn in other directions as the market changes. Companies like Nikon have already adapted to (that is, embraced) the digital camera and all of its attendant devices. Why not eyes?

I wonder if Nikon could build me some 6x wide angle eyes? It seems to me that Steve Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man) would kind of squint and "zoom in" on a scene in a telephoto sort of way.
