"I believe in limited government, and the 20th century has been the century of government. The data is uniform. The government has failed at every single task it has set out to do, with the exception of waging war."
- Bart Kosko

Chiphead
A person whose organic brain has been effectively superseded by a firmware (integrated circuit or more advanced technology) device.

This novel develops this concept much further than some of the earlier uses of similar terms. Unfortunately, I can't really describe the full flower of this concept without telling too much of the story.

[She] was a chiphead. The point is that the chiphead displayed no aggression toward you. Indeed, it behaved in such a way as to suggest that it would never have harmed you if you had not found the scars on the back of its head.
