"I was wholly addicted to watching Kojack, for as long as it was on television."
- Frederik Pohl

Caller Contact List
A list of callers kept on the phone instrument.

Amazingly, Pohl has also predicted the "call list" feature of cell phones. This is yet another feature of the prescient Joymaker from The Age of the Pussyfoot.

If you have been called by any person, the joymaker wil have recorded the necessry ortho-name and identification spectrum. Simply ask the joymaker to call the person you wish to speak to.

When I finally got myself a cell phone (hey - I'm an early adopter! It's just that cell phones are leashes, too!) the feature that disconcerted me the most was the fact that it recorded the phone number of every person who calls. Of course, this makes it a lot easier to call people back, and add them to your database of names and phone numbers.
