IONITY Opens First 10 Fast-Charging Stations

IONITY has opened its first 10 fast-charging stations in Europe. Tesla, with a five year Supercharger head start, now has 1,344 of its Supercharger stations, with 11,041 individual charging stations, open worldwide.

IONITY is a planned network of fast-charging stations planned by five of the world's biggest automakers - BMW, Daimler, Ford and the Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche. They've been moving fast; I just wrote about them last year (see Ionity Ultra-fast Charging Station Network).

"To recharge the batteries, which can be done in almost every town and village, two copper pins attached to insulated copper wires are shoved into smooth-bored holes..."
