| "As there is no link to a SF use, I though I would mention this reminds me of the Bene Gesserit secret gesture language in the excellent series of "Dune" novels by Frank Herbert. The key aspect of the secret language was a silent communication through hand gestures ("finger-flicking"), that was employed to convey private information to someone "in-the-know" while speaking normal, un-obfuscated speech to them in a public place, or if they suspected monitoring."
