|"This tire is almost certainly more expensive, and probably noisier than rubber tires. It would probably ruin conventional asphalt at typical highway speeds to boot. Not really practical on Earth."

|"As far as I know, the NASA tires are almost entirely handmade, which would make them too expensive. I don't know if it would be worth exploring other methods of fabrication. I agree with Yossi that you wouldn't want to drive them on conventional roads; I'd add that the traction of metal springs on concrete is probably poor. Offroad, maybe?"
