Android Glass Desk Phone
The first thing I thought of when I saw the Cloud Telecomputer Android Glass desk phone was "OMG, it's the Northern Telecom Meridian DV-1 from 1985!" Yes, it's kind of retro, but I still like it. (Former NT or BNR employees are encouraged to send me a picture of the device, which was essentially a desk phone integrated with a LAN networked computer, which I can't find online. Update: Thanks for the NT display phone pictures. End update.)

As you can see, it has a neat screen that shows lots of apps, including visual voicemail, calendars, sms and email. It even supports (sniff! where's that teary geek emoticon I'm looking for) landlines.
Anyway, you could probably go all the way back to the original hobbyist sf writer, Hugo Gernsback, for references; see his telephot, which offered voice, picture and lots of extra features, like a language rectifier (how about it, Android developers?)
I think H.G. Wells had a piece of this one, as well. Take a look at his cool desktop intercom screen from his 1936 movie Things to Come:
