Let's Pizza is a robo-pizzeria designed by Claudio Torghele of Northern Italy. It is not simply a machine that vends tasteless pre-made pizzas. This robotic pizza making machine creates your pie from the same ingredients used in your local pizzeria.
(Let's Pizza robotic pizzeria)
As you can see in the Let's Pizza video, it delivers a custom-made 12" pizza with your selection of four toppings, bakes it in an infrared oven, and then dispenses your tasty treat for about $5 in just three minutes. The device is being backed by a Dutch investment firm and should make it to market sometime this summer.
I've always found the subject of food-making robots quite appetizing - or, rather, quite interesting. Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote about an automated restaurant in A Princess of Mars in 1912:
Kantos Kan led me to one of these gorgeous eating places where we were served entirely by mechanical apparatus. No hand touched the food from the time it entered the building in its raw state until it emerged hot and delicious upon the tables before the guests, in response to the touching of tiny buttons to indicate their desires.
