Iron Drone Raider Counter-UAV Operations

The Iron Drone Raider offers counter-UAV technology; autonomous attack of threatening drones.

The Iron Drone™ system is an advanced counter-drone solution, designed to defend assets against hostile drones in complex environments with minimal collateral damage. Iron Drone is a fully automated intercepting system designed to eliminate small drones without using GPS or RF jamming.

Launched from a designated pod, the intercepting drone flies autonomously towards targets under radar guidance, then identifies and "locks on" to the target using proprietary computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities. The intercepting drone follows the target, then incapacitates and captures it and using a ballistic net and a parachute to safely lower it to the ground.

As the threat of nefarious use of drones grows, this is a critical public safety and homeland security tools with valuable applications in cities, stadiums, military bases, energy facilities, and other high-risk assets and sites.

(From ondas.)

The Hawk anti-drone from the remarkable 1953 story Watchbird by Robert Scheckley predicts the need for counter-UAV weapons:

"The Hawks are especially built to hunt down watchbirds. They're stronger, faster, and they've got better armor..."

"But anything the watchbirds can do, the Hawks can do better," Macintyre said cheerfully. "The Hawks have special learning circuits for hunting. They're more flexible than the watchbirds. They learn faster..."

"All I know is that the Hawks are self-controlled. So were the watchbirds. Remote control would have been too slow, the argument went on. The idea was to get the watchbirds and get them fast. That meant no restricting circuits."

(Hawk from 'Watchbird' by Robert Sheckley)

"We can dope something out," Macintyre said uncertainly.

"You've got an aggressive machine up in the air now. A murder machine. Before that it was an anti-murder machine. Your next gadget will have to be even more self-sufficient, won't it?"
