Magazine To Have Video-In-Print
Video-in-print advertisements will appear in some copies of Entertainment Weekly. The small - cellphone-sized - screens will have rechargeable batteries.
These video-in-print ads will use a different technology than that used in the Esquire magazine (which have all gone dark by now); see E-Ink Cover For Esquire Magazine for details.
Inevitably, comparisons to the magically-animated Daily Prophet from the Harry Potter series arise.

Spielberg fans of course remember the e-paper newspapers from his 2002 movie Minority Report.

(Paper-thin E-Paper Newspaper changes content)
Fewer, perhaps, will credit Philip K. Dick with the idea of a battery-powered comic book, in his 1965 novel The Zap Gun:
Before him lay the October 2003 copy of the uncivilized comic book, The Blue Cephalopod Man From Titan. At the moment, his lips moving, he examined the entertaining adventure, The Blue Cephalopod Man Meets the Fiendish Dirt-Thing That Bored to the Surface of Io After Two Billion Years Asleep in the Depths!
...It pulsed warmly, wiggled as Pete squeezed the wiggling-trigger. And the nipple dialated like a tiny pink lightbulb, upraised in 3-D and winking on and off, on and off ... and would continue to do so until the five-year battery-plate contained within the back cover of the mag at last gave out.
