Inflatable Expansion Bubble
Inflatable chamber to provide temporary additional space for cramped space craft. (Read
the full article)
"The first-ever spacewalk, by Alexi Leonov in 1965, featured an inflatable airlock. The Voskhod spacecraft itself was far too small for a self-contained airlock, so they made an inflatable one that extended outside the vehicle. (For the US Gemini spacewalks, they just suited up and opened the whole vehicle to space.)"

"I've also read that the Voskhod spacecraft used vacuum tubes in some of the control areas, and that the interior of the craft had to be kept pressurized at all times, unlike the hardier Gemini craft."
