Clare Winger Harris (b. 1891 - d. 1968) was an American author (known also as Mrs F C Harris), daughter of F S Winger; she was the first woman to publish science fiction in the specialized 1920's Pulp magazines in America, beginning with "A Runaway World" for Weird Tales in July 1926.

Miles John Breuer (b. 1889 - d. 1945) was an American writer and physician who served in the US Medical Corps in World War One, and who began publishing science fiction in 1927, featuring the first of several physician protagonists.
