Russia Bans Cursing, Demolition Man Morality Device Next
Russian President Vladimir Putin has decreed. or at least signed into law a bill, that there will be no cursing! At least, not in music, books, movies or entertainment venues.
Violating the new decree can cost an individual $56 to $70, according to ITAR-TASS (Russian state news). Officials can be fined $112 to $140 and businesses would be charged $1,117 to $1,396. Repeated violations will come with higher costs.
It's like you woke up in some sort of future where nobody was allowed to swear - kind of like Demolition Man, the 1993 movie with Stallone, Snipes and Bullock. Public places had verbal morality devices that issued tickets to miscreants.
