Security Robots Mujiro And Ligurio
Since it seems to be a slow robot news day, I thought I'd pass on this video of a Tmsuk security robot from 2005. The two styles Mujiro (purple) and Ligurio (blue) were designed by Makoto Ishigaki.
The most unusual (bizarre?) aspect of this guard robot is the transforming cape that parts to reveal the robot's mechanical arms, which can be used to pick up potentially dangerous materials, or possibly small children.
Mujiro And Ligurio are equipped with image recognition and microwave sensors that can even detect people through thin walls.

Philip K. Dick wrote about security guard robots in his 1955 short story The Hood Maker:
"Halt!" A robot guard appeared, streaking toward them across the field. "Identify yourselves!"Franklin showed his clip. "I'm Director level. We're here to see the Senator. I'm an old friend."
Automatic relays clicked as the robot studied the identification clip. "From the Director level?"
