Date Rape Prevention Lip Gloss Kit
2 Love My Lips is the creation of a Liverpool businesswoman who has created a new line of lip gloss that is sold with a secret drug-testing capability.
"Through personal experience and those of my close friends, I identified a need for such a product," Tracy Whittaker says. "So I set about researching drink spiking drugs and what type of testing kit I could put in a lip gloss pack alongside developing the perfect lip gloss for a glitzy night out."

(Date Rape Prevention lip gloss from 2 Love My Lips)
"If a drink tastes funny, or you are suspicious something is amiss simply dab the ends of the taper in your drink and if they turn blue tell your friends immediately and get help from Security and the Police," explains Whittaker.
Obviously, the thing that is lacking in this otherwise highly usable product is lip gloss that is itself the chemical sensor for date rape drugs. The first thing I thought of is that it could change color; however, that would not be noticeable by the person wearing the lip gloss.
So, how about lip gloss that changes flavors when it contacts something other than the usual ingredients in a drink? It would go from cherry flavor ("a charismatic cherry girl is gorgeous, sassy, bewitching and devilish" according to the site) to vomit-flavored. The wearer would notice right away, and it would also discourage any kissing.
2 Love My Lips date rape prevention lip gloss reminds me of the poison snoopers from Dune. In the novel. all of the members of a particular social class carried poison snoopers as a matter of course. These testing devices were also available in a personal, portable form.
Paul saw his father in the doorway, avoided his eyes. He looked around at the clusterings of guests, the jeweled hands clutching drinks (and the unobtrusive inspections with tiny remote-cast snoopers)...
Pausing in the doorway to inspect the arrangements, the Duke thought about the poison-snooper and what it signified in his society. All of a pattern, he thought. You can plumb us by our language--the precise and delicate delineations for ways to administer treacherous death. Will someone try chaumurky tonight--poison in the drink?
