Sky Ear Works!
Sky Ear finally took flight last month after a slight delay due to bad weather and other problems; the flight took place on July 4th at the Belluard Bollwerk Festival 2004 in Fribourg, Switzerland. Sky Ear consisted of one thousand large helium ballons with sensors to react to the electromagnetic environment of the night sky. Storms, mobile phones, police and ambulance radios all contribute to the radiation in the sky.

Each balloon could also react to the others, creating waves or other patterns of color. People on the ground could dial in with cell phones, listening to the spectrum (and contributing to it).
Good news! If you missed it in Fribourg, you can see it on September 15th at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich Park, London.
