Comments on Peter Robbins' Alicia, Tom Swift's Jetmarine
Remarkable homebrew submersible allows builder to live his Tom Swift-inspired fantasy. (Read the complete story)

"In the future, submarine engines that use field compression engines will suck in water, ionize it, compress it with electromagnetic fields, and use a linear acceleration tube to push it through the engine to the exhaust. A deionization grid might remove the charge from the water so that it will be safe to expel. In my world cruisers, the engines would be so huge that a submarine could enter the intake and exit safely from the exhaust. The engine in the submarine Red October from the book and movie "The Hunt For Red October" uses a similar field compression and water ionization engine to allow it to travel silently and swiftly. If the exhaust grid can deionize the water, there shouldn't be a trail of dead fish left in the sub's wake. The only dead fish might be the ones that can get past the protective intake grid where the water will be ionized. Just like the birds that enter the intake of my compression-field jet engine on hypersonic planes, the fish would be fried, mashed, and spit out the rear end. Maybe the cheap tourboat and airline companies will serve "sea kill" and "air kill" to passengers courtesy the compression field engines and the debris removal systems. "

"Hi Does anyone have Peter Robbins contact details of the underwater dream machine or does anyone know the company that built the submarine? So I can contact Peter Robbins. dj606@optusnet.com.au thanks dj"

"What is the current status of Alicia? Did Robbins ever make another? Did he come up with a way to use Alicia to recoup the $ it cost him to build it? What a joy it would be to actually go to sea in the Alicia. "

"This is to congratulate Peter Robbins on the distinguished product he was able to create and on the very distinguished person he apparently is. "
