Comments on No Online Voting Yet (How long Did You Wait In Line?)
'...every veephone on the continent would display, over and over, two propositions'- John Brunner, 1975. (Read
the complete story)
"As it turned out, I waited just twenty minutes to vote! I was also thinking about Brunner's 'veephones', which (as I recall) were hardwired devices. But it made me think about using mobile phones to vote, which would be the ultimate in easy online voting."

"this is a good article on how to hack a voting machine http://www.popsci.com/gadgets/article/2012-11/how-i-hacked-electronic-voting-machine"

"Online voting may come of age, after we can ensure each voter has a personal computer and that that person's ID can't be compromised. The first part is easy, the second... not so much."
(Dewtey 11/7/2012 6:18:32 AM) |
"Dewtey - that's why I was thinking that mobile phones hold part of the answer, as far as online voting is concerned. First, a mobile phone is tied to an individual (it's my phone number) and many people already password-protect their phones. Some phones already have fingerprint security, and aren't there apps that pull in a picture of a fingerprint? But I don't trust any of the e-voting machines, and I guess I don't trust anything that doesn't leave a verifiable paper trail."
