Comments on Who First Suggested Terraforming Venus First?
'In five hundred years, all of Venus might be paradise.'- Poul Anderson, 1955. (Read
the complete story)
"I just wanted to add that the earliest science fiction about Venus dates to the 1880's; an anonymous novel titled The Great Romance. In 1895, Gustavus W. Pope wrote Journey to Venus the Primeval World, which predates the earliest speculations by scientists that perhaps Venus had a hot, foggy climate like a tropical rainforest."
(Bill Christensen 10/12/2012 5:49:31 AM) |
"I know he didn't first suggest it, but David Drake might be the first to show that unsupervised Seeding of Venus might be a biotech gone wild in "Seas of Venus"."

"By the way, great to see the comments back up, Bill!"
