Comments on Snackbot, Robotic Bringer Of Snacks
Should roboticists be forced to walk long distances for snacks, or should they have snacks brought to them by autonomous robots, thus letting them spend more time creating cool robots? This question answers itself. (Read the complete story)

"It's a little strange that the robot has two different voices: a male one for the 'interview' and a female one while actually delivering snacks."

"Well, I suppose it's a start. WA-7 is a lot cuter, and is retro-designed, anyway. :-)"
(Joey1058 10/15/2009 10:55:43 AM)
"As far as the male and female voices are concerned, I think that they are using the device as a platform to explore, among other things, social interaction between human beings and robots. Changing voices provides more variables; which is more pleasing under which circumstances?"
(Bill Christensen 10/15/2009 12:28:48 PM)
"Joey - as it turns out, roboticists at Carnegie Mellon are also working on BallBot, a robot that balances on a single point much like WA-7. Check out the BallBot video.

I'm also enamored of this very cool table robot:
