Comments on Life Machines Barber Robot Concept
Would you let a machine give you a really close shave? Explore your feelings. (Read
the complete story)
"With all due respect to the ones who came up with this concept, it seems a little absurd. Might be good for paraplegics but wouldn't strapping on that harness and putting faith in a robot not to slash your throat be a little more inefficient than just doing it your damn self?
Now, a machine that could give me the exact same haircut every time...we would have a winner."

"I'd like to see a Barber Surgeon robot"

"Don't underestimate the desire of multinational corporations to provide household service robots. A high-ranking Toyota VP stated that robotics is a core business for Toyota. Remember that this is the company that went from making cheesy cars in the 1950's to overtaking GM to be the biggest car maker on Earth. You'll see a robot that gives you a shave (and does a lot of other stuff) within a decade.
Besides, everybody knows that in the future, we'll use beard-inhibitor chemicals that only need to be applied every six months or so. ;)"
