Information-Free Zones Future Vacation Spot
British artist Stanza has created a holiday concept he calls Freezone. These structures would serve as information-free zones - no cellphones, no chipped ID cards, no personal information tech allowed.

Science fiction writer John Brunner imagined something similar to this in his well-known 1975 novel Shockwave Rider. In the novel, the long-feared California earthquake had finally happened; the magnitude of the disaster was such that people had to be paid to live in places without modern data services.
...settlements created by refugees from Northern California after the Great Bay Quake. Literally millions of traumatized fugitives had straggled southward. For years they survived in tents and shanties, dependent on federal handouts .. afraid to enter a building with a solid roof for fear it would crash down and kill them.

As it happens, other people who fully partook of the information-rich larger society (Brunner was one of the first people to imagine the idea of a nationwide data network accessible by everyone).
