V-Rambo Wristwatch Video Receiver
V-Rambo is a new communications device developed by Tadiran Technologies that displays video in a wristwatch-sized form factor. The device is used by ground troops to display real-time video images taken by helicopters and drones.

V-Rambo measures three inches diagonally; the LCD screen enables troops or pilots to view video beamed directly from drones at up to 30 frames per second.
According to Itzhak Beni, CEO of Tadiran Electronic Systems, V-Rambo gives soldiers an aerial view of the battlefield, which is more important than ever in urban warfare.
"V-Rambo shortens the amount of time it takes to identify and strike a target," he claimed. "Before it was minutes, 10 to 12 minutes. Now it's a matter of seconds."
This $50,000 system will replace older technology that also provided video views, but primarily to central command quarters.
In his fascinating 1928 novel Beyond the Stars, science fiction author Ray Cummings visualized just this same kind of device with his Raytron apparatus:
The pink ball of light sailed ahead and soon was lost to view. The gird of wires which Alice and Dolores held glowed pink... Upon it, etched in black, was a moving scene: mountains, crags, valleys, moving in slow panorama, valleys all pale and empty in the starlight.
