Don't just read the works of an author; gather his every utterance, and ask questions, and then a student could (in some sense of the word) as the author himself.
We're getting there, Steve. The essential idea was captured by science fiction writer William Gibson, when he described a construct, a recreation of a famed hacker, in his 1984 novel Neuromancer:
Molly had gone back to the loft hours ago, the Flatline's construct in her green bag, and Case had been drinking steadily ever since. It was disturbing to think of the Flatline as a construct, a hardwired ROM cassette replicating a dead man's skills, obsessions, knee-jerk responses.
