Cream Encourages Your Immune System
A cream that encourages the body's immune system to destroy cancer cells has been released for general use in Australia.

The Aldara cream is for use on superficial skin cancers known as basal cell carcinomas. While Aldara itself has not been demonstrated to have any of its own antiviral activity, Aldara cream is an immune response modifier that stimulates the body's own immune response system and helps the body fight this virus. It may do this via the induction of cytokines like alpha-interferon.
SF fans may recall a similar ointment from David Brin's novel EARTH - "Their rough, patchy complexions showed where anti-onc creams had sloughed precancerous lesions." Read more about anti-onc creams.
