Holon Fembot From Real Drive Anime

Holon is a character from a new anime called Real Drive (formerly titled RD Senno Chosashitsu) from Masamune Shirow with Production IG. Android-maker Kokoro recently displayed a robotic version of Holon to help advertise the new series, from the same people who brought you Ghost in the Shell.

The plot is set in 2061, fifty years since humanity developed the Network society. A new infrastructure let people connect at the level of consciousness; social problems began to occur as personal data leaks and manipulated information took their toll.

A new Network realm with stronger security was developed; the Meta Real Network, usually called the Metal. The Metal accommodated personal memory data within protected virtual stand-alone organic cyber enclaves called bubble shells and eventually pervaded the everyday lives of people.

If you want to know more, you'll need to start watching; the series premieres next week - but only in Japan. (Or, check out this Real Drive preview video.)

In the meantime, take a look at the fully realized fembot version of Holon, one of the characters.

Kokoro produced the life-size model, which stands 175 cm high; it uses the same voice as the character in the series.

The Holon fembot has remarkably well-articulated facial features; the lips, eyes and eyebrows all work together. Take a look at the Holon video shown below.
