Glasses Camera With Digital Video Recorder
The glasses camera with personal digital video recorder is an ideal sousveillance device. Now you can calmly survey a scene while at the same time making a digital video recording.

A color camera is hidden within the frame; color pictures and audio are both recorded on a personal video recorder. The personal video recorder includes a built-in colour monitor and speaker, 32MB internal memory, which can be expanded by inserting a more powerful SD/MMC card and the ability to time and date stamp all video recordings.
This is almost exactly what David Brin had in mind when he wrote about True-Vu Lenses in his 1990 novel Earth. In the time of the story, street crime was virtually wiped out by the simple expedient of making cheap surveillance available to everyone.
"Watching, all the time watching... goggle-eye geeks...What brought on Crat's sudden outburst was the sight of yet another babushka, glaring at them from a bench under one of the force-grown shade trees... The very moment they came into view, the old woman laid here wire-knitting aside and fixed them with the bug-eyed, opaque gape of her True-Vu lenses...
The stare got worse as they approached. Remi couldn't see the babushka's eyes, of course. Her True-Vu's burnished lenses didn't really have to be aimed directly at them to get a good record.
The only thing that the real-world video glasses picture above require is Internet connectivity; that would give them the final, unbeatable feature of True-Vu goggles:
...she jutted out her chin and faced them square on, aggressively making the point that their likenesses, every move they made, were being transmitted to their home unit, blocks from here, in real time.

Obviously, if anything happened to the person making the video record, the police could always examine the video record of what happened.
