Bed-Case: Sweet Dreams, Bibliophiles
The Bed-Case is a very neat combination bookcase and bed. Created by Nottingham designer Karen Babel as part of her BA Furniture and Product Design degree.

(The Bed-Case by Karen Babel)
The design won an award at the New Designers exhibition in London. As you can see in the picture, the mattress stands upright in four sections, surrounding the books.
For sleeping, two sections can be used to make a single bed, and four are used to make a double. The section at the bottom is used as a storage bin for linens and pillows.
Karen Babel now takes her place among the great designers who try to make life easier for us book-lovers; see also the Bibliochaise Armchairlibrary and the reading blanket.
