Take a look at this trio of great mash-ups created from old science fiction movies and modern music.
Our first selection is a short, contemplative piece that combines A Warm Place by Nine Inch Nails with scenes from George Lucas' THX-1138.
(A Warm Place by NIN + THX 1138)
Our second mashup was created by Steven Wagner of Astropolitan pictures. A remix of Melt-Banana's Alpha Boost plays against old-school anime bots gone wild from Toei's 1965 film Gulliver no Uchuu Ryokou ("Gulliver's Space Travels").
(Melt-Banana's Alpha-Boost + Toei's Gulliver no Uchuu Ryokou)
The last video is a longer piece. It shows about 32 minutes from Fritz Lang's remarkable science fiction classic Metropolis. The movie is a silent film, so you can choose your music anyway; in this case, it's Trent Reznor's double album The Fragile. This pulls a lot of great material out of the movie, which is substantially longer.
(Trent Reznor's The Fragile + Fritz Lang's Metropolis)
